More progress...

Today a crew of about 8 people got the walls of the home put up. It was a hot day, and we're so appreciative of the volunteers who give so unselfishly of their time for another family. Some of our veteran volunteers were there:Leo Vittetoe, Bob Vittetoe, Nick Evanovich, and Richard Gilmore. I heard Charlie Thompson stopped by as well. Charlie has helped build every Habitat home in Washington County. Dana Rembold made her first visit as a volunteer at the site and we're so glad she did. The Care-a-vanners are there to help as well; there's only four of them this year. We owe a big thank you to the US Bank for providing the noon meal for the group. I heard the crew ate well!

Please spread the word that we need more workers at the site. No experience necessary! Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work and we ask that persons under age 18 come with an adult guardian. Everyone must sign a waiver of liability to work at the site and sign in and out with their time each day. We'd love to see the Tapia children be in their new home before school starts in the fall.

We have noon meals lined up for the next two weeks. I may be looking for more after that. The group usually falls off to only a handful of people after the Care-a-vanners leave town. If you want to stop by with some Gatorade, that's always appreciated.
